The 2016 Penfolds Grange is another A Grade Grange from a top South Australian Vintage.
This vintage is made from 97% shiraz and 3% cabernet sauvignon. Fruit was sourced from premium vineyards throughout The Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and from Magill Estate. Matured in new American oak hogsheads for 18 months.
The early part of summer was warm enabling vines to develop healthy canopies and good bunch set. Conditions were superb across late summer and early autumn allowing fruit to ripen perfectly. The Barossa Valley and Clare Valley were outstanding for both yield and quality.
The 2016 Penfolds Grange is a great one, drink until 2065+
